Thank you so much for taking an active role as my readers/audience this past year! All of the sudden, in the blink of an eye, I’ve been blogging for one year! God blessed me with this newfound hobby and I give all the glory to Him.
When I stepped away from teaching three years ago, I was absolutely overjoyed to take on my new role as a mother, but also unsure of what it would feel like to be away from the classroom. While I certainly miss it periodically, I am very happy with the decision I made to be a stay at home mom! I am so blessed to have been given the opportunity to stay home and take care of our children by God and my hard working husband!
In May of 2020, my husband and I had a one year girl named Margaret Ann and a two year old girl named Cecelia Marie! Now they are two and three and we were blessed with a baby boy named Joseph Patrick who was born on April 26, 2021 and is now two months old. I feel like I have grown so much as a mother and even as a wife. The pandemic was hard and blogging was one of the things that really got me through that trying time. It was a lot to stay at home while being pregnant and taking care of two toddlers, but I had no doubt that God knew what He was doing and that He would get me through all the challenges occurring at that time.
In the beginning, I kept things very low key and simple. I would decide I wanted to write about something and would let my thoughts and feelings flow out into the notepad app on my phone. I created a Facebook page and started posting frequently. I felt a true sense of joy and happiness as I poured out my heart and soul.
I really wanted to have my blog on my own website but was overwhelmed by figuring out how to do that so I put that daunting task off for awhile. Finally, a few months after I started blogging on Facebook, I decided I was ready to take the plunge. I joined blogging groups on Facebook and reached out to a mom who became my unofficial mentor. Ashley Havecker has been so supportive and helpful to me every step of the way. You should check out her blogs https://irishtwinsmomma.com/ and https://savingmealtime.com/.
Last summer was when I officially had my own website created but I’m celebrating May 26 as my blogging anniversary since I started blogging through Facebook then.
Just a reminder, my blog’s main focus is motherhood and spirituality but I also write about mental health, specifically self care, and also education. Let me know what you have enjoyed so far and what you would like to see more of.
Thank you for taking this journey with me! I’m excited to see where we will be going next.
Until next time,
The One Blessed Mama
